September is going pretty fast as the best of the best of this earthly existence are going to stop on September 23 this week, according to some Christian believers.
Some fringed Christian groups based their theories in the biblical prophecies and their own interpretations.
According to a report by the British Daily Mail, the Rapture is set to begin on September 23.
So, what is rapture? It’s a day when every “worthy” Christians ascend to heaven, leaving others to perish on Earth.
Some conspiracy theorists are convinced that an astrological alignment of Leo and Virgo and several other planets could trigger Rapture.
They’ve also pointed towards the Bible verse: Revelation 12: 1-2 which talks about huge astrological event.
The Bible verse reads:
A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head.
She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth.
The interpretation according to conspiracy theorists is that woman is represented by Virgo, the crown by Leo and the feet by the moon.
The final puzzle is the extremely hot sun, which they say would pass through the alignment on September 23 to unleash destruction.
If such eventful phenomena takes place, according to them, the actual end of the world will be completed with 7 years. And it is during those years that the Antichrist will come and create havoc on earth.
NOT EVERYONE IS BUYING IT
However, the majority of Christians do not believe in fixing the date and the day and the time of the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Such, fixation on dates and time based on loose interpretation has been dismissed by the larger Christian groups.
The mainstream Christians believe in these two Bible verses about the Rapture.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And will be with the Lord forever.
2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat: both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
The Rapture stuff has been thrown around on many occasions since we can remember. In the early 1990s, some Christians groups actually prepared for the end of the world when the United States declares war on Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. Recently, the earth was missed by an asteroid and that news was interpreted as a sign of Rapture by some people. Some Rapture believers also think that September 23 is a red herring day and the actual apocalypse would be on another date.
