Ian Toothill has become the first person with cancer to conquer Mt. Everest.
As he began preparing for the summit, he wrote on Twitter: “I aim to be the first person with cancer to climb Mt Everest, I hope to raise £250k for Mamillan Cancer Support, and maybe inspire 1 or 2 people.”
And on Monday (June 5, 2017), he achieved his dream.
Ian Toothill, a diehard Sheffield Wednesday Football Club fan, has just months to live, according to doctors. In a U-turn, planted a flag of rivals Sheffield United at the summit for charity! How cool is that!
The personal trainer raised almost £31,500 for a cancer charity Macmillan, beating the target of £29,100 pounds.

“Nothing to see here, just some cancer dude (Sheffield Wednesday) fan on the summit of Everest with a @SUFC_tweets flag,” Toothill tweeted.
