Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a mobile app for you to carry your Aadhaar number.
The app is called mAadhaar. It will allow you to carry your unique identification number/profile on your mobile phone.
As of today, the mAadhaar app is available only for Android platform. A test was conducted by zoramobserver.com and we found that mAadhaar is quite handy. We were able to see Aadhaar profile/details. It could be very handy in case of emergency. There are options to lock/ unlock user biometric data in order to secure personal data.
Some other features like viewing and sharing updated Aadhaar profile via QR (Quick Response) code are also very useful. There is also an option for sharing eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) details with mobile service providers.
You will be able to download mAadhaar from Google Play Store. The minus point: You will need the mobile number that you entered when you filled up the Aadhaar application form in order to use the application. If you have that info, it’s straight to registration.
