Guwahati/Aizawl (ZoramObserver.com) Two students from Mizoram were found dead along a railway track at Panikhaiti on the outskirts of Guwahati city in the early morning of Sunday, police said.
The victims were identified as Lalhmangaihsanga s/o Chawnghranga and Lalmalsawma s/o Chhawnsanga (L), both belonged to Lunglei electric veng. They were studying two years diploma course in technician and physiotherapy at Assam Downtown University. The two students are sent under the sponsorship of NERLP.
Lalhmangaihsanga got his arm and leg fractured, while Lalmalsawma had his ear bleeding.
Police and local people believed that the two youths might have struck to death by train.
“The dead bodies were found near the tracks. Train might have struck them,” a local person said.
Police are investigating into the case.
The dead bodies of the two youths were dispatched to their native place in Mizoram on Sunday after an autopsy at Gauhati Medical College. They are expected to arrive on Monday.
Meanwhile, the two student bodies in Mizoram, Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) and Mizo Students’ Union (MSU) while lamenting the mysterious death have alleged it to be a murder case and asked the law enforcement agency to find out and bring to book the culprits involved in the alleged murder.
