Aizawl (zoramobserver.com): Three opposition parties namely Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP), Mizoram People’s Conference (MPC) and the newly-formed Zoram Exodus Movement (ZEM) have forged a pre-poll alliance for the next assembly elections scheduled to be held next year.
The pre-poll alliance was formed at the meeting of leaders of the three parties on Tuesday, a statement issued by the parties said.
The alliance was formed to welcome and involve all political parties, groups and individual in establishing good governance in Mizoram and the three parties invites any individual and groups to participate in the alliance no matter of party affiliation, the statement said.
Meanwhile, ZEM convener K. Sapdanga said that his party has been holding talks with non-political associations comprising people who were dissatisfied with the ruling Congress government and the former Mizo National Front (MNF) rule.
He said that they wanted to build a Third Front for forming Congress and MNF free government in Mizoram.
He added that people have become sick of Congress which ruled Mizoram for over 20 years and MNF which ruled for over 10 years.
