Singer Rosy’s brother falls to death at Lunglei Convention Centre

Who left the door without a lock?

Singer Rosy’s brother falls to death at Lunglei Convention Centre

Aizawl: The proposed two-day Mizo Zirlai Pawl organised ‘EduFest’ in Lunglei had to be cancelled after one of the organising members Glory Zothanpuia (35) accidentally plunged to his death in a pipeline vent of the town’s Convention Centre on Thursday.

Sources said that Glory, younger brother of popular singer Rosy K. Remsangpuii, had gone to the centre at about 7 pm in the evening to prepare for the educational event.

He mistook the unlocked door housing the pipeline vent to be a toilet door and he walked straight into it. “The height of the vent is about 40 feet and Glory was declared dead on the spot,” MZP sources said.

The source from Lunglei stated that the unlocked door at the Convention Centre’s pipeline vent “looks very much like an ordinary toilet door and the victim could have gone in to relieve himself.”

Glory’s body was retrieved at about 9 pm last night. The police also conducted on the spot inspection.

Later, the mortal remains of Glory was taken for burial to Lawngtlai, the family’s home town.

“A new date for the EduFest will be announced later,” MZP leaders said.

Meanwhile, there is no information on who left the door unlocked and why the door did not have any “No Entry” and “Danger” signs.
