Aizawl (zoramobserver.com): A 12 hour bandh was called on Thursday by main opposition the Mizo National Front (MNF) to protest poor roads across the state.
Sources from MNF said that a state wide bandh would be observed on Thursday from 5 am to 5 pm to protest the dilapidated condition of road across the state.
The opposition alleged that almost all the state highways are under poor condition and some of them are not travelable. It said that people faced hardship due to bad roads as the government is not taking action to repair them.
“No roads across the state are in good state and Congress government did not pay sincere attention to repair them within an opportune time. It allocated a large sum of money in the state budget in the hope of repairing road only for the purpose of buying votes,” a MNF leader alleged.
The proposed bandh according to MNF is a token of solidarity to the people who faced hardship due to bad roads.
