India achieved major progress under Modi: Prof. J.V Hluna

Aizawl: BJP Mizoram Pradesh president Prof. JV Hluna on Saturday said the country has achieved major developments in various spheres under Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP government.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of celebration of four years of BJP government, Prof Hluna said the BJP led central government during four years have constructed 40,500 km road under new integrated transportation project.

He said that the government is committed to construct another 83,000 km road if it comes to power in the next Lok Sabha elections.

Hluna said that the centre has allocated budgetary provision of Rs 1,21,500 crore for road transport and Rs.148,528 core for railway development during the current fiscal (2018-19) and the central government also allocated Rs .2,04,000 crore for smart city mission.

He alleged that the Mizoram government has not fully utilized fund received under smart city mission.

Highlighting the development achieved during four years of Modi government, prof. Hluna said the central government has been taking massive effort to improve agriculture across the country and Rs 51,026 crore has been allocated in 2018-19 under agriculture sector.

He said that Rs.46,356 crore has been allocated for improvement of education system and human resource development.

According to the president, about 19 crore families were given free LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana scheme.

He added that about Rs 21,000 crore has been allocated under Prime Minister housing scheme to provide housing assistance to 15,000 families.
