Aizawl, July 12: Mizoram Rural Development Minister R. Lalzirliana on Thursday opened District Panchayat Resource Centre (DPRC) at Keifangtlang village in south Mizoram’s Champhai district bordering Myanmar.
Speaking on the occasion, R. Lalzirliana said DPRC was an important step towards implementation of the state flagship programme New Land Use Policy (NLUP).
He said that the government is planning to open the same centre in other parts of the state.
The minister said that at least 400 NLUP beneficiaries each would be selected from 40 assembly constituencies.
He said that the NLUP assistance would be given to all beneficiaries without any partiality and political affiliation.
He also asked both the officials and local leaders to be impartial while selecting beneficiaries.
The construction of DPRC at Keifangtlang village began in October, 2016 and was completed in February this year. It was constructed at the cost of Rs 1.55 crore and funded by Ministry of Panchayat Raj. The centre is equipped with Establishment room, Conference hall, Library, Auditorium, 18 guest rooms and several other amenities.
