Saikot (zoramobserver.com): Thanlon Northern Chiefs Association said today that it is giving full support to the Pherzawl District Development Committee on the development of the newly created district in south western Manipur.
The group said that a meeting was held today and the association, comprising 30 villages, passed two important resolutions to “make our stand loud and clear on the issue of Pherzawl District”.
“We declare and extend our full support to all the initiatives and core demands of the Pherzawl District Development Committee – particularly with regards to the non-rolling back of the previous government’s decision on creation of the district, district headquarters at Pherzawl and immediate posting of adequate staff,” the association said in a press statement.
The group also said that it appreciated the PDDC’s invitation-cum-reminder letter to the Chief Minister of Manipur to visit Pherzawl District Headquarters at the earliest.
“We also hope the Chief Minister will immediately make an announcement on what he intends to do in order to bring development to Pherzawl District,” said the statement signed by Thangkholam, president of the association.
