Sielmat (zoramobserver.com): With the initiative of the new state government swinging in rapidly across the state, the 15 of every month has been dedicated by Chief Minister N Biren Singh as People’s Day.
On this day people from across the state can come together and meet the CM openly in the state capital. Whereas, in the districts, DCs & SPs will host the event every month.
As the People’s Day came into effect in every district of the State, Churachandpur District also observed the 15th of June, 2017 as “Miyamgi Numit” or People’s Day at the SP Office here in Churachandpur.
The event was hosted by SP Pu Rakesh Balwal and Deputy Commissioner Pu Shyam Lal Poonia also participated in the event.
Student leaders of ZSP (Zou), Zillai (Vaiphei), KZP (Simte), TKSU (Thadou), SSPP (Paite), MZP (Mizo), KSO (Kuki) and HSA (Hmar) took part in the event.
Pu Balwal invited the students’ organisations to join hands with law enforcers in fighting social evils.
He said his department is concerned about students abusing drugs and as such efforts are on to fight against drug dealers and users. The People’s Day was also observed at DC’s Office Complex, CCPur.
