Aizawl: Anti-Terrorism Day was observed by all employees working under Mizoram government on Friday.
Led by chief secretary Lalmalsawma, IAS, employees of the Mizoram Civil Secretariat pledged to safeguard the unity and integrity of the country and to work for communal harmony and peace at the state’s New Secretariat Complex, Khatla, while Rodney L Ralte, IAS led officers and employees at the pledge taking ceremony at the Secretariat Annexe and employees of other departments also took the pledge to mark the observance of Anti- Terrorism Day at their respective departments on Friday.
Although the Anti–Terrorism Day is on May 21, it was observed on Friday since the actual day falls on Sunday.
The death anniversary of ex-prime minister of India, Shri Rajiv Gandhi is observed as Anti Terrorism Day all over the country on 21 May. Terrorism, the most heinous crime by the mankind against mankind has become the biggest threat for Indians today and every citizen of the country is responsible for driving out this phantom of fear. Fighting against this crime has become the moral duty of every Indian.
The whole nation mourned with two minutes of silence to mark solidarity with the world in its fight against terrorism and to remember Rajiv Gandhi.
Anti Terrorism Day is observed every year to promote peace and harmony in the nation. Different committees across the country organize various seminars on the drive to create awareness about the danger caused by acts of terrorism. The main aim of observing Anti Terrorism Day is to wean away the youth of India from such dreadful forces threatening human lives.
