Tasmanian Woolworths customers have less than two weeks left to switch from the Frequent $hopper Club loyalty program to Everyday Rewards, with Frequent Shopper Club closing down on 25 January 2021.
Woolworths rolled out the Everyday Rewards program in Tasmania from 6 August 2020, bringing Tasmania in line with the rest of the country. Since then, Woolworths’ existing Tasmanian Frequent Shopper Club program has continued to operate alongside Everyday Rewards in Tasmania, with customers given the choice to use either program during the transition period. But from 25 January, it will no longer be possible to earn Frequent Shopper Club points in Tasmania.
Frequent Shopper Club members can choose to join Everyday Rewards and transfer their existing F$C balance to Everyday Rewards points until 24 January 2021. To have your existing points transferred to the new program, you’ll need to provide your Frequent $hopper Club number when joining Everyday Rewards and ensure the names on both accounts match exactly.
If you’re a Tasmanian Frequent $hopper Club member and don’t join Everyday Rewards by 25 January, you’ll still have the opportunity to join Everyday Rewards at any time. But your Frequent $hopper Club dollars will not be transferred across. Instead, you’ll be able to redeem your outstanding balance (to the nearest cent) at any Tasmanian Woolworths or BWS store until at least 30 June 2021.
How does Everyday Rewards differ from Frequent Shopper Club?
The main difference between Everyday Rewards and Frequent Shopper Club is the way points are redeemed. With both programs, you’ll earn 1 point per dollar spent at Woolworths supermarkets. But with Everyday Rewards, 2,000 points are worth a $10 discount off your shopping – compared to 1,000 points giving a $10 discount with Frequent $hopper Club.
Everyday Rewards points can also be converted to Qantas Frequent Flyer points, with 2,000 Everyday Rewards points worth 1,000 Qantas points, if you choose to opt-in to that.
The other key difference between Frequent Shopper Club and Everyday Rewards is the boosters, or bonus point offers with Everyday Rewards. The Everyday Rewards program sends regular, targeted and generous offers of bonus points to members. With these offers, you can earn up to 10x points with each shop (or even more if you combine offers). This compares very favourably against Frequent Shopper Club, which just gave double points on one day per month.
While some Tasmanians were initially sceptical about switching to Everyday Rewards, many can now see the benefit in the new program which allows points to be earned much faster.

We opted for the cash back option (odd I know for a FF points hound) and we are accumulating points at a record rate despite needing twice as many now. With points boosters, bonus points and offers the points add up very quickly. In 3 months we have a built a credit of $70 after taking a lot longer to get the $50 carried over from the old scheme.The biggest boost so far was 7000 points (=$35) for spending $165 a week for 2 weeks which is easily done.
