I decided to go down the rabbit hole of homemade espresso and found myself a bit stuck before I could even start. I went through the local FAQ, binge watched James Hoffmann’s youtube channel and read any resources that looked like the author knew what he was talking about. When I finalised my decisions regarding setup (Eureka Mignon Specialita and Rancilio Silvia), I went ahead and ordered samples from local coffee roasters matching the flavour profile I’m looking for and I am looking forward to trying my first cupping experience.
TL;DR: What ratio/recipe to choose as a starting point when I want to achieve something in the sense of Italian style espresso with medium dark roast coffee?
