Jason Manford’s son bitten by horse on family bike ride: ‘One of the weirdest things to ever happen to me’

Jason Manford has recalled the bizarre moment he witnessed his son getting bitten by a horse ‘with mad eyes’.

His son was left with terrible bruising after the horse ‘lurched’ at him while they were out on a family bike ride.

They had stopped to meet the horses that they usually see on their journey when a ‘new’ horse in the pack suddenly struck out.

The 39-year-old quickly dashed to the rescue accidentally causing his bike, which had his other two-year-old son on the back, to fall to the ground.

The comedian described the incident as ‘the weirdest thing to ever happen to me’.

Speaking on his Absolute Radio show, which airs on Sunday mornings, Jason said: ‘There was a new horse and he had mad eyes! I should have spotted that looking back.

‘It was a mad 60 seconds. I had my little boy, the two-year-old, on the seat of my bike, this horse out of nowhere lurches forward and bites my other son on the chest.’

He went on: ‘The bruise is the worst you have seen. That moment I left to save him and my bike fell over and the other boy fell to the ground! It was one of the weirdest things that has ever happened to me.’

Jason, who has six children, added that his son is fine and sent the picture of his bruise to his friends to show off.

The TV presenter couldn’t resist getting in a few puns.

‘He’s in a stable condition now’ Jason joked revealing he had also asked his son ‘Why the long face?’.

Jason shares three daughters – two of which are twins – and a son with his first wife Catherine.

He has been married to Lucy Dyke since 2017 and the couple have two children.

He rarely shares pictures of his kids, but in June last year he did post a lovely Father’s Day picture of himself cuddling all six of them.
