Gardaí busted a New Year’s Eve party being held at a shebeen in Kildare complete with pool table and arcade machines.
Gardaí cut the festivities short of a group of 15 people who were found ringing in the New Year at a shebeen in Co Kildare that was kitted out like a “traditional pub”.
The shebeen, which was based in the shed at the back of a Kildare home, was complete with leather couches, arcade machines, beer fridges, a full-size pool table and even a festivily adorned Christmas tree in the corner.
Officers entered the premises at around 8:30pm and took the details of all people present before seizing all the alcohol and ”drink optics and spirit dispensers”.
“Investigations ongoing and a full investigation file will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for direction,” a Garda spokesperson said.
