Maisie Smith ‘not to get too cocky’, says Shirley Ballas in her bookies’ fave

Shirley Ballas has warned EastEnders actress Maisie Smith not to get too cocky so early in the competition. She added, “You could see the competitive spirit, you could feel it. People all look like they were at the starting block, ready to move forward.” However, Shirley admitted she was worried about MP Jacqui Smith and Good Morning Britain’s Ranvir Singh during the first group dance.

The weekend saw the contestants pair up with their professional partners and give their first taste of what’s to come on the dance floor. Maisie was named the ‘obvious winner’ of the show, with Max George, HRVY and Jamie Laing leading the way at 6-1. Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturday.
