Strictly Come Dancing 2020 launch date confirmed by Shirley Ballas

Has been confirmed by Shirley Ballas, head judge of Strictly Come Dancing. The launch night will air on October 17, with the live shows starting a week later. Shirley added that the first group dance will take place on the 24th of October. Notably, the show will be pre-recorded and will feature singers Alex Jones and Chris Ramsey. Each couple will perform their bit for an audio tape that will then be cut together.

Anyone tested positive for coronavirus will automatically be ruled out of the competition due to the two-week quarantine imposed by the government. The competition will run for nine weeks, with no Halloween theme week and no visit to Blackpool. Notably, there will also be no Strictly Come Dancing.
