This is a dry, almost sweet wine. It’s rich and offers ripe apples, citrus, green plums and honeycomb at the same time. The acidity is good, giving the wine a lift as it opens.
The wine is a blend of the two three grapes. It has power and a lot of weight. The fruit is ripe, packed with acidity and concentrated. It’s a full-bodied wine, very young, with its black plum and acidity. It will need time to show its best. Drink from 2017.
It’s a veritable feast of green and savory flavors that are cut by a swirling, lightly toasted, buttery backbone of sweet, smoky, clove and honey. If you like a bit of anise and bay, this isn’t for you.
Aromas suggest underbrush, acacia honey, orchard fruit and a hint of baking spice. The taut palate delivers white peach, apricot and a mineral note alongside brisk acidity and fresh acidity.
Aromas of underbrush, toast, dried rose and a smokey note come together. The chewy palate offers dried pink grapefruit, a mineral note and a note of vanilla alongside tight acidity and polished tannins. It’s a fine apritif, but will be best after 2020.
The nose is a bit trimmer than the palate, which is a bit fuller and richer, with flavors of ripe black plum and rose. The flavors are all concentrated, offering a long, juicy finish. The acidity on the finish is just right.
